Guru Ramdas English Medium Public School is a school for the rural, children of Howrah district's Sankrail block.
The idea of starting an English Medium school in this rural region was first mooted and envisioned by some educationalists and social workers. The sole vision of the founders is to provide formal education to the rural children from lower economic strata, for whom English medium education is a dream, and to help them get a firm foothold in today's global economic scenario by transforming him\her into a competent and useful citizen of India.
The children at GREMPS are provided English Medium education using the latest methods along with extracurricular activities like singing, dancing, drawing and craft and moral education as well.
The school is owned, managed and run by Guru Ramdas Educational Trust, and endeavours to follow the principles and ideologies of Guru Ramdas, the 4th Sikh Guru ____ the epitome of Love, Services, Dedication, Humility, Kindness and Sacrifice. The mission of the school is to provide quality English Medium Education in the rural belt of Argore, Andul, Mashila and Garh Mirzapur in Sankrail block of Howrah District. Special care is taken to inculcate in the child the right values and morals, to help him blend harmoniously with the varied multilingual, multicultural, pluralistic society of our country and blossom into a valuable citizen of India. The school motto is SERVICE WITH HUMILITY, the essence of true knowledge.
The school has a committed and dedicated team of teachers having a profound urge to nature in children the valuable assets of discipline, devotion, determination and dedication in their persist of knowledge. The school is presently following the curriculum as prescribed by the CISCE and prepares children for the ICSC Examination.
The focus of the school is to shape its young students into persons of ingrity and commitment to society. Into men of vision, caring and courage. We are aware that T.V., internet facilities, mobile phones and the wide plethora of electronic gadgets has a strong influence in the shaping of the students' attitudes, values and goals in life. To channelise to child's creative talents and develop his\her all around personalities, debates and quiz are held regularly and children are encouraging to read story books. Sports activities like Football games and physical education are held regularly to make Schooling a happy learning experience.
The teacher and parents, the family and the school environment together make up the educating and guiding community. Their collective contribution in various ways helps to transform the child into a person of competence conscience and compassionate commitment to society which is the aim of ideal education.
The school is currently running in its new building. The school has completed its 1st phase in the form of 1st floor and ground floor and classes have begun from April 2018 here. Fortunately, this floor is in a serene and peaceful environment and has a last playground with a children's park adjoining it. A well-qualified team of teacher is carrying the legacy of Sri Guru Ramdas; Service with Humility in the true spirit.
